When vinegar and the baking soda are put together, it creates a foaming, bubbly reaction that can be used as drain cleaner. This vinegar and baking soda bubbling reaction will mechanically loosens and removes the clog. Thus, it could be referred as the perfect natural drain cleaner.Below are th ingredients on how to make vinegar and baking soda drain cleaner and the direction on how to use it.
Ingredients:
1 cup baking soda
1 cup white vinegar
1 gallon boiling water
Directions:
1. Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain.
2. Slowly pour 1 cup of vinegar down the drain. (If you pour too quickly you will merely flush all the baking soda and vinegar down the drain, instead of allowing it to make the chemical reaction around the clog that you desire.)
3. Let this mixture sit and bubble for approximately 5 minutes.
4. Slowly pour 1 gallon of boiling water down the drain.
The purpose of the boiling water is to completely flush out the clogged drain, after the baking soda and vinegar do their job of loosening the blockage.
This method of using baking soda and vinegar in your drain is best for unclogging a slow drain, not a drain which is completely blocked and which has standing water.
